First, because I want to invite you to let out your inner child, rebel or princess to enjoy a special date in which we can personify and interpret a different role than what we do every day, if you do it from your essence I assure you that you will keep many joys and will want to repeat it again next year.
Secondly, do a pre-treatment on your hair, at home or at the salon to give the strand resistance for everything you want to do with your hair, ahh and after the party is over, make another appointment at the salon or take the space at home, to give your hair a break with a good hydration recharge.
Before Rituals:
1.If you want to create a voluminous hairstyle, we recommend using a product that gives you texture like Foam from Curl Up.
2.To complement that Morticia Addams costume, you need your hair very straight and controlled so we recommend using Styling Milk which provides frizz control and a tensor effect thanks to potato starch.
3.To give shape and extra hold to your hairstyle we recommend Invigorating Wax that doesn't weigh hair down and is easy to remove from the hair.
After Rituals :
1.After using color hair sprays to get those fantasy tones, wash your hair very well with an intermediate cleansing shampoo and moisturize it with Argania Mask.
2. If you used heat tools to maintain your perfect style, give it a hydro nourishing power with Color Care Mask.
3.And to give it hydration and shine we recommend a few drops of Argania Serum that will also help you to recover your ends after the hairstyles and the mermaid waves you did.
I say goodbye to all of you, but not before wishing you a spooky Halloween and happy holidays.
When making a decision about which products to choose to care for your hair, there are several factors to take into account, one of them is to know what is our hair type and although it seems that we all already knew the straight, wavy and frizzy hair, the stylist Andre Walker created a classification system with detailed characteristics in order to determine the essentials when it comes to care.
Said to be the easiest to manage, however, its fine structure and thin strands make it more susceptible to damage as well as vulnerable to breakage. People with this type of hair tend to wash it more often.
Type 1A: This is the finest hair with little volume.
Type 1B: A mix between fine hair and root with more volume.
Type 1C: Thicker hair with a "heavy" appearance.
This type of hair usually dries with slight waves, is usually the shiniest type of hair, is very easy to mold into straight or curls and the hairstyles are long lasting.
Type 2A: Fine hair and a slight S-shaped wave, leaving the wavy design of the hair more undefined and with little volume.
Type 2B: Hair with slightly more defined S-shaped curls that start to form from the scalp and may be slightly frizzy.
Type 2C: Thicker, very voluminous hair with well-defined S-shaped curls.
Curly hair ranges from large curls to tight curls, they are the best defined, have a lot of volume and texture. They are sensitive to humidity and frizz is always their enemy.
Type 3A: Hair with larger curls. This is the most hydrated hair of the three, and the heaviest, which explains the slight loss of curl definition. In some cases, the root may be smooth due to the weight.
Type 3B: Hair with S-shaped curls, more wavy at the root, well-defined curls and tighter than the previous type.
Type 3C: Characterized by tight, well-defined curls, or "small" curls, which can be formed from the root. Some consider this type of hair to be curly, while others consider it frizzy.
is the most varied classification, as we can find spiral curls and even more compact curls, with less defined curls that tend to be more fragile and dry, and need to be cared for with much more attention.
Type 4A: Tightly coiled hair from the root, very voluminous and with a spiral wave, and a slightly defined shape.
Type 4B: This type is characterized by being tightly coiled and wavy in an S-shape, a little finer, dense and sometimes fragile.
Type 4C: Z-shaped curls, well defined and a little finer. It may look "heavy" because of the tight curls, but make no mistake: this is the most fragile hair of the three.
Now that you know the different hair types and their classifications, you can better choose the products that will help you care for and shape your hair the way you want.
...What we never keep in mind is the protection of the hair to all these changes that generate damage and in most cases is irreversible.
There are different types of damage that can be caused to the hair fiber, from loss of natural moisture that results in dull and frizzy hair, to loss of natural keratin that causes brittle hair and split ends.
Therefore, there are different types of hair protection you can try using a portable treatment to maintain natural moisture and keep your style straight or wavy. But if you are talking about using heat tools there is an exclusive product that you should use to avoid irreversible damage such as loss of natural protein due to high temperatures.
Yes!, we are talking about the thermo protector, a product of great importance at the time of any type of hairstyle, it guarantees complete hydration while preserving the internal structure of the hair fiber, being our shield against damage.
That's why we recommend Gycoliss Xtending Spray:
Our Rejuvenol protector, which is light and strengthening, enriched with keravis, a vegetable protein that protects and gives hair up to 3 times more resistance to tension and heat, making it less vulnerable to breakage.
Some other benefits are:
• Helps maintain natural moisture.
• Provides softness to hair, prevents split ends and adds shine.
• Minimizes frizz.
• Generates a protective barrier that helps care for cosmetic color.
• It doesn't generate residues on the scalp and is non-greasy.
You can use it on both wet and dry hair, although we always recommend applying it wet so that the hair can absorb all the nutrients that will strengthen the hair.
From a very young age we women begin to perceive the importance of hair in our lives.

Let's say that in this time travel doesn't apply the rule that forbids talking to your past self, in fact, it was built just for that purpose, you have one hour to advise yourself about the things you could do better to live a better future. Condition, the most you can go back in time is 10 years.

The experience of talking to myself was being something incredible, but my time was running out in the past and it was time to return to the present, I was anxious to know how much of what I had talked to myself had generated any effect.
Now I ask you, if you had the opportunity to tell 10 things to your self of ten years ago, what advice would you give yourself, of course we know that 10 would be the same, so tell us what other 9 things would come to your mind.

]]>However, during chemical processes, the structure of your hair is altered, causing you to take care of it and keeping it healthy becomes a priority.
If you notice that your hair is becoming more fragile, less manageable, more easily tangled and less shiny, DO NOT PANIC!
The product you use to wash your colored or bleached hair should contain a formula designed to care for processed and weakened hair.
Choose a shampoo and conditioner with compounds that help prevent color oxidation, provide more nourishment to the hair and restore its strength.
Regular use will give your hair a healthy appearance, improving manageability, our Rejuveplex line is specially designed for these cases. Learn more here
Color-treated or bleached hair loses structure and material in the chemical process, that's why it feels more tangled and elastic when wet.
It is important to apply some technique when detangling or combing.
Before washing: While it is dry comb it with a short bristle brush and separate type "Vent Brush" remember that dry hair is stronger, so you prepare it to receive the wash.
After washing: remove excess moisture with a cotton towel, apply a leave in product or styling cream and start untangling from the tip to the root.
Masks will be your best ally since they help to balance the effect caused by chemical processes, you should keep in mind that there are lighter masks ideal for thin, fine hair or with minor processes and other masks are denser, suitable for thicker hair or with greater process.
You can also find masks with pigments to revive the color of your hair and at the same time deeply moisturize, such as our Color Care Violet or Blonde Mask.
Using them frequently and according to your hair's needs will give you soft, manageable and resistant hair.
If you want to know which mask to use according to the needs of your hair leave us now a comment.
If you expose your hair to the sun as part of your daily routine or on vacation, your hair can suffer from loss of color, aging and dehydration due to the effects of the sun's radiation.
It is essential to use leave-in products on the hair fiber to protect colored or bleached hair, creating an outer layer that blocks damage from the sun, chlorine or sea salt.
Depending on the texture or thickness of your hair you can choose products in cream for thicker hair or spray for fine hair and remember that the Serum goes very well for all hair types.
The use of a hat or cap will be a perfect ally to enjoy the sunny days with radiant and rejuvenated hair.
If changes of look are your thing, it is important to keep in mind that direct heat can cause a lot of damage if used frequently and even worse without protection, such as extreme dryness, wear of the hair fiber, decreased resistance among others.
Remember that thermal protection products increase the resistance of the hair to heat and traction that we generate at the time of styling.
You can find them in liquid, creamy or serum form, based on proteins, botanical complexes or oil extracts. Depending on the needs of your colored or bleached hair, you can choose the most suitable one.
Using them frequently and according to your hair's needs will give you soft, manageable and resistant hair.
Anyway, I think that in many ways the blonde color has been present in my life and maybe you are thinking, "surely you also had dolls with black or brown hair and not all princesses are blonde, besides some of your mom's friends must have looked good with a different tone", to which I will say, yes you are right, but it is not my fault, if I was born with brown hair, but with the conviction of seeing myself blonde in the mirror.
If like me you feel that this is definitely the shade for you, stay here because I'm going to tell you three sacred things I've discovered on the long road to blondness, which you may already know, but it never hurts to remind you of them.
1. The stylist matters, there are multiple shades of blonde and not all go with your skintone or lifestyle, that's why a good advice is important to start, then within the world of blondes there are several techniques to carry the tone in your hair and not all stylists are updated in these color techniques, so you must choose well the person to whom you will confide your precious blonde.
2. The reason is simple, the ideal blonde will be given to you by a well prepared stylist who surely works with good quality products, if you are already blonde you know that touch ups are an important part to maintain that tone that we like so much and if you combine all this, it is logical that you have to set aside a good budget for our beloved color.
3. The dark side of being blonde is the damage to the hair, the constant chemical processes, weaken and deteriorate the hair strand in a way that we can not imagine, so it is important to use products at home that are of quality and specialized in the care of both our hair strand and the blonde tone we wear, this is important so that the price of wearing beautiful hair, is not to end up losing it.
Dear blonde friends, in summary: choose a good stylist, set aside a budget and use a good hair care line, if you don't have a favorite I recommend mine blonde toning by Rejuvenol, I love it!!
The first time I had a blonde tone was 20 years ago, since then I have worn it in different styles and tones, now at 35 years old I feel it as part of my life, I don't know if I will be blonde forever, what I know is that once you are blonde, you want it to last forever.
Tell us in the comments, the story of how you fell in love with blonde hair.

It's no cliché, most of us women love to spoil ourselves and although it's better to be treated at the salon, many times we don't have the time or the money to go as often as we would like.
We live on the edge! We are mothers, wives, entrepreneurs, workers, gladiators and super heroines so when we think of rituals, we see it as something sporadic, because we see it as something that requires a lot of time.

6. Do not take it wrong, but there are some hair that after so much bleaching need to be returned from beyond, if that is your case, you can relax, because now there is hope to give life to that hair you love so much to look platinum blonde, mix Rejuveplex Mask with a few drops of Serum, apply on your hair, leave on for 30 minutes, then remove and feel how gradually returns the resistance and strength to each hair strand.
Pd. Keep in mind that it is a process and needs a couple of sessions to see strong results.

Regardless of the look and style you imagine the most important thing is the condition of your hair strand.
If in 2021 you bleached your hair a lot, didn't use heat protectants at home, didn't do hair recovery rituals at the salon or went on vacation to the beach or pool and didn't take care of your hair from external aggressions, then your hair needs a little help for the new 2022 changes.
If your hair is highly bleached, we recommend using the Rejuveplex line to strengthen the hair's internal bonds and restore strength to the hair strand.

]]>It has probably happened to you that Christmas comes and you wonder what can I give to my mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, best friend, etc. in these holidays, the funny thing is that, although you know them well and you know what they like, you are always looking for a way to surprise them.
Before recommending a special gift, let's take a look at the top 3 gifts that are best avoided:
2. A gift voucher, nothing shows more disinterest in the other person than a voucher, we know that your intentions are good because you want them to choose something they like, but gosh it's someone important to you, take a smile out of their heart.
3. Anything that looks nice to you regardless of the other person's lifestyle, come on you know them, give them something that shows you really care.
Let's be clear so you don't worry, a gift don't have to be the fanciest or most expensive for it to have value, but it must meet at least 3 points:
2.To the person (that goes with their style or way of life).
3.Emotional (that awakens joy in the person who receives it).
You may be thinking, Oh my god and then what am I going to give, although the list of what not to give is short, the list of options to surprise your loved ones is quite long, today we want to help you by giving you a gift option that meets the 3 points and that will make the person happy.
How many women do you know who care little or nothing about their hair? If you know them, I assure you that they are few, regardless of age, hair is an essential part of the personality, no matter what stage of life they are going through.
For sure, any of the women in your life, even the one you see in the mirror, likes to have hair with movement, health and shine, so giving a Rejuvenol product as a gift this Christmas becomes an excellent option to surprise the people you appreciate so much.
Surely you had not thought! but now that you know, keep in mind the fact that each person's hair has different needs, so to make the gift special, we have opened a space to help you identify the ideal product, so every time that person uses it, they will let out a smile thinking of you while their hair looks radiant.
We wish a great Christmas for you and your hair, look beautiful, cheerful, with movement and full of life.

Although hair color goes back to ancient times when different cultures used natural ingredients to darken their hair, we will start this blog in 1907 when the chemist Eugene Shcueller created a color formula that he marketed successfully among French stylists, over time and unknowingly this man changed the history of humanity forever, his small business acquired the name of L'oréal and gave rise to a multimillion dollar industry.
Let's talk a little about the reasons why a woman dyes her hair, we could take as an indicator the different stages of life.
- Women up to 25 years old: It is the time to define identity, to be fashionable, to follow influencers and while living this stage, hair color is a way to feel unique and different.
- Women from 25 and up to 40: welcome to working life, although society has changed and is much more open to urban culture, the combination of maturity and a new environment often drives a change of look to face a new stage of life.
- Women in their 40's: Women who are accomplished in many aspects of their lives, are clear about what they want and what they don't want, and many of them don't want beautiful shiny white gray hair.
This is just a general point of reference, because in the end everyone will have their own reasons.
Now let's leave the history and general concepts behind and talk about the chemistry in your hair while you're getting a hair color
To obtain the magic of color in the hair there are different products to do it, we will tell you the most used ones.
These are hair dyes with very small pigment molecules that can be completely introduced into the hair. They contain peroxide, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, which activate and penetrate the color more. They are used to cover gray hair or if you want a longer lasting color.
In this section we will focus on permanent dyes, let's say you already have color in your hair and you go for a new session at the salon.
Current diagnosis: Dyed hair, blonde tone, last process 2 months ago, currently has roots and you want a lighter blonde. At the moment you do not use any specialized hair care product. You notice that when you wash your hair it becomes elastic and difficult to untangle.
As with all cosmetic products, not all hair dyes have the same quality, perhaps they all meet the basic principle of providing color, but you will find all kinds of compounds, some very good and others that will leave serious consequences on the quality of your hair strand.
So regardless of your stage of life, if you are willing to invest in the color in your hair, please invest in the care of color and hair strand at home, the process you do in the salon is the beginning of a transformation in your hair forever, take it bright, radiant and healthy depends on your care during the following months.
When you take a strand of hair in your hands, you see a thin strand, but inside that tiny fragment is a complex universe.
The door to that world is the cuticle, the most superficial part of the hair, which is responsible for making your hair look shiny and feel soft. In the process of color with dye it must be modified and worn; this is how it is lost progressively and not to mention when you bleach the hair there is a higher percentage of cuticle is lost.
In dyeing or bleaching processes, depending on their technology, there are nano pigments and macro pigments. The nano technology manages to open the cuticle a little and enough pigments will enter to fill the spaces well, which will help it last longer. In macro technology the door must be opened wide, and not all the spaces will be filled by the same size of particles, then closing the door will not be so easy and the duration of the dye will probably be shorter.
To achieve a blonde tone as desired, the peroxide must be mixed with the bleach the lighter you want the color, the more peroxide and the more invasive the process will be for that world that lies behind the cuticle.
As you can see, even though we can't see it, there is a huge chemical reaction going on in that small space.
Fortunately, for stylists who are able to perform calmer processes and for all women who love color, a couple of years ago the concept of Plex was born, which I'm sure you've heard a lot about in salons.
The Plex are products created with the intention of stopping the damage caused in the hair strand by repairing the rupture of the bonds by the color processes, especially when they are high discolorations, using a Plex during the chemical process helps to prolong the posing time, which improves the possibility of reaching the desired tone, using specialized home care products under the plex technology that helps to reinforce the process started in the salon and that the hair soon regains its natural movement, shine and softness, are the best complement for the care of your hair.
During the last 120 years hair dyes have evolved a lot not only in the use that can be given in terms of beauty concepts but also in the technology that surrounds them, this allows all women who like to wear a certain hair color or change it with a certain frequency to do so with the peace of mind that their hair will always be healthy.

]]>We do not recommend it, it is a chemical process that requires a special technique by the professional to optimize the results, talk to your trusted stylist about the process.
Of course, what may vary is the duration of the treatment depending on the type of progressive keratin that is performed.
The results vary depending on the previous condition of the hair and the treatment performed, but in general you can expect:
- Straight effect
- Frizz control and hydration
- Hair recovery
Depending on the keratin treatment to be performe
d according to the diagnosis of your professional, it can be the same day, but it is recommended to wait at least 15 days before or after to make a color change.
In general keratin processes last between 2 to 5 months depending on the type of hair, the treatment performed and the aftercare, we emphasize this last point because it is essential to extend the duration of the treatment.
Click here to learn more about our keratin care kit...
It is not necessary to do it on all the hair, we only work on the roots and for the rest of the hair we recommend keratin baths, always in the hands of your trusted stylist.
Definitely not, it is a chemical process and although there are no conclusive studies, our suggestion is to give priority to the health of the baby in the belly or during breastfeeding.
Absolutely, you must wait a prudent time for the particles of the active compound to fix to your hair strand, which varies depending on the type of treatment, some take 3 days and others a little longer. Your stylist will surely help you with the aftercare according to the state of your hair and how soon you want to return to the pool or the sea.
Depending on the type of keratin treatment, physical activity can start the next day or 2 days later, we also recommend using a product that protects the hair from environmental aggressions such as Styling Milk.
Yes, you can, but you must be clear about your objective, because depending on the type of treatment you could have a 90% straight effect or only generate a decrease of frizz with deep hydration without damaging its shape.
]]>Even though straightening processes provide many obvious benefits, such as intensifying shine, softness, reducing frizz, and making hair easier to manage and style, these results are because each hair is covered with a layer that isolates humidity, avoiding the presence of frizz and aging due to the aggressions generated by the environment. This sealing also prevents the hair from absorbing the oil that is naturally produced in the skin and therefore gives us the perception that it gets dirty more often.

For this reason, a straightening treatment can change your need for washing to become more frequent, for this, the ideal is to use a gentle cleansing product, to not alter the health of your scalp and to remove the residues of grease while being friendly to the hair strand, avoiding its dehydration.
A good care routine is essential, to intensify hydration and protection, you should be focused on 3 main objectives, to ensure healthy straight hair.
Remember that straightening treatments should always be performed by a professional, who will determine which straightening product (control treatments, progressive straightening, amino acids, among others) is best suited to the needs of your hair.

]]>Although night time is a time for you to relax, night time should actually be the time that you prepare your hair for the following day, who would've thought! There are many different steps that you can take to protect your hair from nightly damage as well as make it easier for you to style in the morning. Who wouldn't want a shorter morning routine? Especially if you're someone who usually runs pretty late. Here are some tips to take loads of time off of your morning routine.
This is the biggest no-no of them all, you should never even THINK of sleeping on completely wet or damp hair. Although for some people, sleeping on wet hair put in a bun can give nice beachy waves, for most people this is not the case. Not only is there a high chance that it won't work, sleeping on wet hair can actually damage your hair and lead to more breakage. The reason is, your hair is saturated with water so that leaves the cuticle layer of your hair open. With the cuticle layer open it allows your hair to dry out internally which, in turn, makes your hair weaker. The more you move around in your sleep with wet hair the more damage it will cause. If you choose to do this, you might as well prepare for some serious split ends.
It's very important to make sure that you detangle before you go to bed. It is inevitable that you are going to get some tangles in your hair while you sleep, especially if your hair is on the longer end. So, why would you not detangle it before bed, because this will just cause bigger knots in your hair and give you a much larger problem in the morning. We recommend using some of our Argania Serum Lite and gently detangling with your fingers as you apply. Not only will this serum help to detangle your hair before you go to bed, but it will also make your hair much softer and more flexible and overall more healthy.
The brush that you use is very important when it comes to getting ready in the morning and preparing at night. You should always opt for a mixed bristle brush to help tame frizz and flyaways. Usually, by using a natural bristle brush, this helps evenly distribute the natural oils of your hair to keep it healthy. While detangling, start from the bottom of your hair going upwards. It is never a good idea to start from the top of your hair because if there are any knots it will just make them tighter and push them down to the bottom of your hair. There is nothing worse than a knot in your hair that needs to be cut.
If your hair has a natural curl and you would like to wear it curly the following day, allow your hair to dry naturally or style them with curls if you don't have curly hair. When you wake up, use a spritz of our Hair Therapy and scrunch your curls to ensure that they stay in place all day and keep their shape. After applying the Hair Therapy don't touch your hair until its dry as this will just make your hair more frizzy.
If your hair is STILL not cooperating, you may want to opt to use a hair accessory. To do this, add the accessory to your hair on one side and leave the rest down. Using a barrette or a similar hair accessory can help add some more control to your hair.
If you are someone who suffers from flat hair you may benefit from adding some volume to your hair while you sleep. The way that you can add some volume is to section off the hair on your crown and flip your head upside down. Braid just the section from your crown and flip it back. Make a second braid with the remainder of your hair. By flipping your hair upside down you're adding volume and lifting the roots. This helps to add body while you sleep.
It's usually never a good idea to sleep with your hair in a ponytail. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it will leave dents in your hair. So unless you plan on wearing a ponytail in the following day, it is probably best to steer clear from using a ponytail. Instead, braid your hair in a loose braid tying it off with a scrunchie.
While you sleep, there are a ton of factors which can cause some serious damage to your hair. Two of the largest contributors to hair damage are your pillowcases and hair ties. Make sure that you opt for a silk pillowcase, as this slippery fabric not only helps keep your cool, but it will not absorb the moisture from your hair and cause friction. With cotton pillowcases, the friction between the fabric and your hair can cause breakage and flyaways while also simultaneously drying out your hair. While looking for the best hair tie to use, try to steer clear of tight hair ties and ones that have metal clasps. Opt for a hair tie that is made of telephone wire or just use a scrunchie.
Night time is the best time to apply a leave-in mask or treatment. If you are someone who has damaged or dried out hair this can work wonders for you. There are different types of hair masks though, so make sure you get one that fills your needs. If you are someone with dry hair that just needs some moisture choose a mask like our Moisture Recovery Mask. If you are someone who has had lots of coloring and treatments causing your hair to be damaged and in need of some protein, opt for our Color Care Mask as it is infused with protein and other ingredients to help repair your hair. After applying the mask to your hair you can either wrap your hair in a silk bonnet or with a plastic shower cap. When you wake up in the morning make sure to rinse out your hair.
Although very similar to a hair mask, leave-ins are just as important. The reason they are different is that you do not wash them out and you just leave them in your hair to fulfill their magic. Applying a leave in at night helps you to wake up with softer and healthier hair. We recommend a cocktail of our Argania Serum and our Argania Styling cream.
Like I said earlier, night time is one of the most vulnerable times for your hair that can cause some serious breakage and split ends. It is important to take proper care of your hair when protecting it before bed. We recommend either leaving your hair loose or in a loose braid and wrapped up in a silk bonnet. By leaving this bonnet on, you are keeping your hair against a smooth surface. Since it is against a smooth service it will not cause friction and in turn no breakage
.
We hate to say it, but if you're really in a pinch for time and you didn't follow any of the other steps, we, unfortunately, must tell you that you have one of two options, either throw your hair up in a ponytail or take the extra time to do it. Make sure not to use a tight hair tie though, as once again this can cause some serious hair breakage.
]]>What you need to realize is that dandruff isn't so much about your hair but more about your scalp. If you think about it, dandruff is pretty much because of the overgrowth of skin cells on your scalp, which lead to more often than not, the flakes falling off the scalp an onto your black shirt. It's not a medical emergency if you have dandruff, as much as it really is just a cosmetic problem. Although not detrimental to your health, it's best to look into your causes of dandruff and figure out how to potentially stop the white flakes (if you want to of course!).
Irritated and Oily Skin: Most people who have this kind of dandruff suffer from a condition called Seborrheic Dermatitis. This condition affects not only the scalp but many areas of the skin. It causes scaly patches of skin that are oily and irritated and flake off as dandruff.
Dry Scalp: In times of the year when it is colder outside, you have to moisturize your skin to make sure that it stays hydrated and not dry. The same thing goes for your scalp, in these colder months, it is very important to use scalp treatments to keep your scalp in peak condition and full of moisture. Although this may make your hair look a little oily, it is better to have a moisturized scalp than white flakes all over your clothes. Dandruff that is caused by dry skin is usually smaller and less oily than from other reasons.
Not Brushing Enough: Yes, brushing your hair is important, but did you know that if you don't brush your hair enough that you can actually cause dandruff? By brushing your hair you are increasing the blood flow and circulation to your scalp to help the hair and scalp to become much healthier. Brushing also helps to rid your hair of the shedding skin cells.
Improper Hair Care: Whether you are using the wrong products or you are using the right products incorrectly, it is very important to be educated on how to properly keep your hair and scalp healthy. Certain products that contain harsh ingredients like parabens and sulfates can irritate the scalp and cause dandruff. Using products with drying ingredients like hairsprays and gels with alcohol can also dry out your scalp and make more white flakes. Make sure to use hair products that are free of all harsh ingredients and that contain moisturizing and strengthening ingredients to help your hair and scalp to stay healthy.
Although the quick fix could just be to wear white all the time, that's not ideal or even practical for that matter, there are some things that you can do to combat your dandruff. There are over the counter products that are designed to help you treat your dandruff, but often times you can have the same results with natural remedies.
Tea Tree Oil: Although a very strong scent, tea tree oil has been used for decades to treat conditions like acne to dry skin. The reason why is because the magic oil has been proven to have very powerful anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Since this oil has these properties it may help to alleviate some of the symptoms of dandruff. There have been recent studies done that prove that tea tree oil is effective in fighting the specific fungus that causes seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff. Keep in mind, though, that if you have sensitive skin tea tree oil may not be for you. Try to dilute the oil in a carrier oil like coconut oil before applying it to your scalp.
Coconut Oil: Like I said earlier, one of the causes of dandruff can be dry skin, so that means that ensuring that your scalp is properly hydrated is a must. That is where coconut oil comes in. A natural remedy for dandruff, coconut oil can help improve the hydration of your skin as well as preventing future dryness. Coconut oil and its compounds have been proven to also have antimicrobial properties although their potency against certain types of fungus has not been tested.
Minimize Stress: Although it has never been fully proven that stress itself causes dandruff, it can irritate symptoms like dryness and itching. Stress often weakens your immune system and a weakened immune system will reduce your body's ability to fight off certain fungi and skin conditions that can lead to dandruff. To reduce your stress you should try some techniques like meditation, yoga, deep breathing, aromatherapy, and acupuncture.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is often used as a natural remedy to get rid of dandruff. Apple cider vinegar has many health benefits like improving insulin sensitivity and increasing weight loss. The reason that apple cider vinegar helps with dandruff is because of the acidity in the vinegar. This acidity is believed to help stimulate blood flow to your scalp to increase the shedding of dead skin cells on your scalp. By shedding these dead skin cells in one shot, you won't have to worry about these flakes ending up on your clothes. Apple cider vinegar is also said to help balance the pH of your skin which will in turn help to reduce the growth of fungus which in turn fights dandruff.
Add Some Aspirin: Plain and simple one of the primary compounds in aspirin is salicylic acid and this helps to reduce inflammation. Salicylic acid may be found in aspirin but it also found in many anti-dandruff shampoos. This acid helps by getting rid of scaly skin and loosening flakes so they can be easily removed. To use aspirin crush two tablets of aspirin and adding the powder to your shampoo before washing your hair. This in itself can help to reduce dandruff.
Eat More Omega-3s: Omega-3 fatty acids are vital to the health of your skin, they help to manage oil production and hydration as well as promoting wound healing. A deficiency in this vital nutrient can cause dry hair, dry skin, and even dandruff. They have also been proven to reduce inflammation which may help relieve irritation. Foods that contain high amounts of Omega-3s include salmon, trout, flaxseed, chia seeds, and walnuts.
Baking Soda: Although used for cooking, this ingredient is a quick and easy way to help treat dandruff. It acts as a gentle exfoliant and can help to remove dead skin cells and reduce scaling and itchiness. Baking soda also has antifungal properties which can help be beneficial in treating dandruff. For the best results try applying baking soda directly to your wet hair and massaging it into your scalp. After letting it sit for two minutes, continue to wash your hair as usual.
Although embarrassing, there are some easy fixes to dandruff, and worst case scenario, visit your doctor and get prescription strength products to help treat your dandruff. This post is in no way medical advice and you should always seek the help of a medical professional if you have a serious condition. What do you do to combat your dandruff? Comment it below as we would love to hear some of your tips and tricks.

This goes without saying, but don't participate in any crash diets if you would like to have healthier hair. Usually, with crash diets, you are voiding your body of important vitamin enriched foods with proteins that are necessary for healthy hair. Participate in crash diets, and watch your hairline recede further and further back. JUST DON'T DO IT!
By constantly using different hair products on a day to day basis, whether you are switching your shampoo/conditioner or any styling product, you are contributing to your hair being brittle and weak. Scientists have said, that switching up your shampoo or other hair products quickly, per se for the scent or the benefits, you are actually doing some damage to your hair. It's your best bet to choose a set regimen of hair products and stick with them. Look for sulfate-free shampoos, these will not strip your hair of its natural oils. Try out our Moisture Recovery Line of Shampoo and Conditioner.
Hair masks are super important to keep your hair at it's healthiest and looking it's best. For much cheaper than getting an in-salon treatment, using a hair mask, like our Argania Hair Mask is great to add important nutrients and moisture to your hair that it may be lacking in.
Nutrient and vitamin deficiencies are usually the reason for weak or slow growing hair. Conditions like thyroid disorders are usually a common cause of hair loss or easy breakage. To learn how to combat these problems it is best to consult your physician, as they could provide you with the supplements and medications to help combat these conditions and deficiencies. If you don't know, you might as well get checked.
Doctors recommend that B-Vitamins are vital to healthy and strong hair, and if you don't get these vitamins from your diet you may have to look into supplements. You've probably heard of Biotin, as it is the most talked about B-Vitamin when it comes to healthy hair. For good reason, though, as it helps to strengthen your hair. You should also ask your doctor about B-Vitamins B1, B2, B5, and B6. It might even be best to look for a B-Complex. Foods that contain these very important vitamins include lean meats, leafy greens, and some dairy products.
Leave-Ins are very important when it comes to strong and healthy hair. Not only do these types of products help to add some nutrients to create smoother and softer hair, but they can also be used to help combat frizz and other environmental factors. Try out our Argania Serum as it is great to help combat frizz and lost moisture.
This doesn't require much explanation, Sulfates, Alcohols, and Sodium Chloride all dry out your hair, making it more brittle and stripping it of all of its natural oils. Look at the ingredient list on your hair products, and make sure they don't contain these.
While your hair is wet, it is in it's most fragile state. Typically wet hair is double it's normal length as it gets stretched when it's wet. This leaves the hair cuticle open and much weaker so it is best to not brush or comb your hair after a shower when it is wet. Wait for your hair to dry before you put a brush or comb through it.
We've said this before in many past blog posts, but after applying shampoo and conditioner to your hair, rinse your hair with the coolest water you can handle as this temperature of water helps to seal the cuticle to make sure that no moisture is lost. Rinsing your hair with cold water helps to lock in conditioning agents. It is also best practice not to wash your hair every day, as this doesn't allow your hair the time to build up its natural oils to stay healthy and strong.
Just like the sun, wind, and rain can damage your skin, it can also damage your hair. Exposure to excessive sun, heat, dirt, or pollution just adds to the damage that you may have in your hair. It is best to avoid dirt build up as this will dry out the hair and the scalp. Take the right precautions to protect your hair and scalp from environmental factors like covering with an umbrella or hat.
Every time you wash your hair with shampoo, you should be conditioning. Never leave the shower without conditioning first. Without conditioning, you may leave the shower and your hair cuticles will not be sealed leading to your hair being very frizzy. That being said make sure that you are conditioning the right way. Conditioners are specifically formulated to lock in moisture in the hair shaft. This means that you should not be applying conditioner to the scalp as this is where the natural oils are. Start applying your conditioner about two inches away from your scalp. Conditioning your scalp just adds to the hair oils, making your scalp excessively oily.
Tight hair ties not only hurt you, but they hurt your hair. By keeping your hair in a tight hair tie, it will rip and break your strands causing lots of "split ends" and damaged hair. No one likes flyaways and keeping your hair ties tight will only add to the number of baby hairs and flyaways that you may have. Instead, use a telephone wire hair tie as these are much less damaging to the hair. You can also opt for scrunchies with cloth around them as these are also much less damaging to the hair.
When drying your hair, only pat, never rub. Although drying your hair by rubbing will dry your hair faster, it will also double the amount of hair damage and potentially pull out even more hair than regular drying would.
So there you have it, 13 tips for healthy hair. If you have any tips or tricks that we missed comment them down below. Now get out there, and show off your healthy, strong, and shiny hair.

Why would you spend so much money on a treatment that is going to last you less than half of what they claim? If taken care of properly, Rejuvenol Keratin Treatments can last up to six months, and that's the truth. Out competitors claim their treatments last as long, but around month two, it seems that they fell off track. Towards the end of your treatment, you will notice that your hair is just as manageable, if not more, as it was in the beginning. With the use of our After Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner, you are extending the life of your treatment by adding Keratin to your hair with every wash. Other After Treatment systems do not contain the formula to help your treatment last, and some even have ingredients that will dissolve the keratin out of your hair! Want your treatment to work better, longer? Choose Rejuvenol.
I don't even need to explain this one, better results, for more than half the price. Come on now, choose Rejuvenol.
Unlike hair relaxers and Japanese smoothing treatments, our Keratin Treatments are not damaging to the hair. The way that our treatments work is that they coat the hair in Keratin to help straighten it out. In case you didn't know, your hair is made mostly of Keratin, so adding more keratin around each hair shaft is actually beneficial to your hair strengthening it. Our formulas are also enriched with ingredients that condition and strengthen the hair adding moisture to help create more manageable, healthier, shinier hair. Want more manageable healthier hair? Choose Rejuvenol.
We recommend coloring your hair before you receive our treatment, the reason being, as the outer layer of each strand is coated in keratin, this locks in the color and helps it to last much longer than it would without the treatment. Not only does it help to make the coloring last longer, but it also can make the color appear more vibrant in the hair. Don't color your hair? Well, there are still benefits for you in getting the treatment. If you are someone that has hair that usually doesn't react very well to environmental elements, and your hair usually puffs up like a frizz ball in extreme humidity and rain, then our treatment can help you out. As I stated earlier, the treatment helps to coat each individual strand in keratin which means that it locks the hair follicle and doesn't allow any environmental forces in. This means less frizzy, more manageable hair. Are you ready to choose Rejuvenol?
With 25 years of experience in Professional Hair and Skin Care Salon products, it's no shock that we have formulated the perfect combinations of ingredients for you to get your best #RejuvenolResults. There is an endless amount of happy customers who received our keratin treatment and keep going back for more. There's a reason why once someone picks Rejuvenol, they never choose another. Find out for yourself!
We currently have eight formulated Keratin Treatments all of which do different things for your hair and the result. Let's run through all of them to learn more about each treatment.
Rejuvenol Original Keratin Treatment: The most versatile of all treatments. Softens and relaxes frizzy hair and damaged hair will look shiny, healthy, and manageable.

Like any good thing, we must start from square one, the beginning, the start, and in this scenario it's in the shower.
If you have naturally pin straight hair, this tip is especially useful to you. With straight hair, when you curl it, if it is too slippery or soft the curl will easily fall out. This is where the problem of conditioner comes in. When you condition your hair it makes your hair extra slippery which will, in turn, make your curls fall out much faster. If you have pin straight hair, your hair needs tons of texture to be able to hold your curls. So when washing your hair before curling, skip the conditioner.
Although above we said to skip the conditioner when you wash, it is actually best to not wash your hair at all before curling it. The best hair to start off with before curling is second or third-day hair. It may sound kind of gross, but the hair with natural oils and a little bit of dirt will naturally hold curls better, potentially even without any styling products. If you are someone who gets oily hair really quickly, we recommend using a dry shampoo or an unscented baby powder to not only absorb excess oil but to actually add some texture to your hair to make your curls last longer.
As we've said time and time again, the texture is what helps your curl to hold much longer. Before beginning to curl your hair, apply a thickening product that will help add some texture to your hair. We recommend applying some of our Hair Thickener to your hair before you curl it. Not only will it help add some thickness to your hair, but since it is heat activated, this will actually help your hair to stay curled for much longer. You may also want to add some heat protectant with the Hair Thickener to help protect your hair even further from heat damage.
While curling your hair, it will help if during and after you apply some hairspray to your curls as they are cooling down. This will help to hold your curls in longer, but make sure to use a nice mist on your hair, not applying too much, and not getting too close to your hair while spraying. Spray a light mist onto your hair and wait a few moments for it to dry. Always work in smaller sections, as this focuses more heat on the strands to keep them curled. Large amounts of hair curled will fall out much faster than smaller sections of curled hair. When picking a tool to use, make sure to splurge a little and get a high-quality curling iron or curling wand. If you use cheap drugstore brand curling irons, not only will you do more damage to your hair, but your curls will fall out in less than twenty minutes! Higher quality curling irons and wants are usually coated in ceramic or tourmaline which is less damaging to your hair than just plain metal and heat. When curling your hair, the optimal temperature is around 300 degrees Fahrenhyour curls to last much longer. After removing the curl from the curling barrel, clip the curled section with an alligator clip to allow it to cool down for 5-15 minutes. This will help to let your curls last longer throughout the day. After taking the clips out leave your curls a little tighter than you'd like them to be because no matter what you do, they will always fall out a little.
Finish your styling with a good setting spray. This helps to keep your curls looking gorgeous all day long. Finish off the look with a light mist of hairspray or a curl setting spray. It may also work well to finish with some texturizing spray. In a pinch? You can use some baby powder to add some texture to your tresses to make your curls last longer.
Want some waves without the heat? Braid wet hair and wrap it in a t-shirt overnight, take up and take the braid out to reveal some beachy and wavy curls. It may be best to apply some of our Argania Styling Cream before braiding as this will enhance your waves and help them to last longer.
If nothing is helping your hair to curl, especially any of these tips, this is a sign from your hair that it is screaming and needs you to get a healthy cut to trim off any split ends or super damaged hair. Damaged hair and hair with lots of split ends will never curl well and will especially not hold a curl. Go to your stylist, and get a nice trim to reveal healthier hair.
Hopefully, these tips help to keep your curls from falling out, and you can keep your curls you spent hours on lasting all day! Do you have any other tips to keep your curls longer? We may have missed something so comment what you suggest below!
]]>Now you may ask, what exactly causes hair static that ruins your hairstyle, and the answer is dry air around each hair follicle. Dry air has an excess of static electricity so the way to combat this is to add tons of moisture to your hair. Let's look at an example to help explain the process better. When the material of your hat rubs against the strands of your hair, they swap electrons causing your hair to be inherently negative and full of electrons. This swap causes a negative electric charge to build up on your hair. If there is humidity in the air, the charge can usually just go away. Usually, humidity combats this problem, but in the Winter the charge causes your strands to literally repel from another like a magnet. By adding moisture, this fights off the static since it won't allow the static electricity from the dry air to attract to your hair. So for a quick answer on how to fix static, add tons of moisture. So now that we understand how static works, let's take a look at what we can do to combat it.
If your hair is typically very static prone in the Winter it may be best to consider making a seasonal switch to cleansing and styling products meant for curls even if you have fine straight hair. Products made to help curls contain a ton of moisture that usually helps someone with curly tresses but can be your new best friend if you have static-prone hair. By adding extra moisture to your hair you will not have to worry about the electrons in your hair because it will be so moisturized that it won't matter. While looking for products to use avoid volumizing products, as these products typically dry out the hair and can give you more static. Some of the best products to look for are leave-in conditioners, moisturizing styling creams, and hair oils that contain argan or jojoba oil.
Although it is not recommended that you use dryer sheets on your skin and hair, especially if you have super sensitive skin, in a pinch, dryer sheets can be your best friend to help combat the static electricity in your hair. By rubbing a dryer sheet on your hair it will help to neutralize the charge of your static hair make it neutral and less prone to being super static. They are great in a pinch if you are going out after work and the static from the day is making your hair stand straight up. There are also static sheets made specifically for hair that help to combat static and make it easier on your hair in the colder months.
Even though use on hair is not their original use, the moisturizing ingredients in your hand cream are ideal for weighing down the static-filled hair when you're out and about in the colder months. Just by using a small amount rubbed between your hands and spread evenly across your hair can make a world of difference when it comes to the static in your hair. Remember, a little bit can go a long way so use your lotion sparingly on your hair.
Is the air in your office or home very dry? Like we said earlier this is the perfect place for your hair to become full of static electricity. Remember that by adding moisture to the air this can help to neutralize the air and keep your hair static free. By implementing a humidifier this adds moisture to the air and helps to rid your office or home of the dry electron filled air. This can also help improve the air quality in whatever location you put it.
Although in our opinion, allowing your hair to air dry is best, if you are going to opt to use a hair dryer, we recommend choosing one that is ionic. This way, that when drying your hair it can help to neutralize the charge of your hair and making it less prone to static. Ionic dryers work by releasing negative ions to help separate water molecules to not only help dry your hair faster but neutralize charge and reduce heat damage.
This sounds completely unrelated, but did you know that wearing rubber-soled shoes can actually increase the amount of static electricity in your hair? When walking on surfaces like rugs, rubber-soled shoes can pick up a ton of negative ions allowing the static electricity to go through your body and make your hair super staticky.
Using a moisturizing silicone based shampoo is best when washing your hair because not only does it add necessary moisture to your strands but it also coats in hair in a silicone layer that keeps the moisture in and protects the strands from any electric charge, keeping the hair neutral and most importantly, static free.
Plastic combs are one of the largest contributors to static, so it is best to avoid them and instead opt for wooden combs or boar bristle brushes. Although they may be a little more expensive they are more beneficial to your hair, distributing oils evenly, making the hair healthier, and of course, helping to combat static electricity in the hair.
Unfortunately, if nothing else works it may be best to wet your hair and restyle it with the correct products and styling tools. We hate to tell you that you have to start from square one but we would much rather a wet head than one that is full of random strands of hair sticking directly vertical and repelling each other like crazy.
Regardless of your hair type, static hair is something that almost everyone has to deal with. Hopefully, these tips helped you out to keep your static frizz at bay. What do you do to combat static in your hair? Comment below as we would love to know!

Getting a short "pixie-like" style can help give the illusion of thick and full hair. Cutting off a few inches and adding layers can also help give the hair some needed volume and can help it appear much thicker. Shorter hair isn't as heavy so it isn't weighed down by itself on your head revealing your thinning hair or bald spots. When going to get your cut, tell your stylist that you would like to add some layers around your face and that you would like to leave the back of your hair much fuller allowing it to create body and volume.
One of the best ways to cover thinning hair is to introduce a drastic color change to your hair. The more drastic change, the better. This is because people will be so distracted by your new color they won't notice your hair is thinning. Not only does your hair appear thicker, but adding color to your hair helps to plump up your follicles. Dying your hair black, although helping to hide bald spots and thinning momentarily, requires a lot of upkeep and will be more trouble than its worth. Consider dying your hair a deep brunette or a vibrant red. Usually the deeper and more dimensional the color the better.
This one is a no-brainer if you have been wearing your hair the same way for the last fifteen years, it is destined to look thinner in a few places. That being said, try to change around your part and style your hair differently. Not only will this help you to cover up some of your thinning spots, but it will also help to give your hair much more volume because you will be going against your old parts changing the direction of your hair, and in turn, the dimension and volume. Some people also recommend using a braid to cover up a bald spot. and although that may work momentarily for the long haul tight braids can actually lead to more breakage and in turn, more thinning hair.

After you wash your hair, it may be a good idea to introduce your hair to a good blowout. Although you can go to the salon every day, that can get pretty expensive so it is best that we recommend you learn how to give yourself a blowout. This can be done with one tool and a blowdryer, a boar bristle round brush. To add volume to your hair with a blowout start with damp hair, and pull it up section by section drying it in the opposite direction to where it falls. Blast the strands with some cool air to lock the style in place and wallah, more volume. This is a great way to hide bald spots, especially because you will be wearing your hair in the way that it is usually not worn.
When choosing products that you are going to use daily to wash and style your hair, it is good to look for ones that a volumizing and help to combat limp hair and will pump up the volume of your hair to make it appear less thin. This is a great thing to use before you give yourself a blowout because it will give you as much volume as possible. Our Volumizing Shampoo from our Complex Line has a special blend of botanicals that work to reduce the appearance of thinning hair. Infused with antioxidants, this shampoo gently cleanses hair and removes excess androgens such as DHT from the scalp while delivering vitamins and micro-nutrients to the follicles, giving hair a more voluminous and youthful look. Get our Complex Shampoo here. Always choose a shampoo that is alcohol and sulfate free as this can cause more damage to your hair since they are so harsh on your follicles.
A Hair Thickener is definitely something that you want to add to your daily hair care regimen. This type of product helps to plump up the size of your follicles making your hair appear much thicker. Our Hair Thickener is a revolutionary new hair product with its activation complex that adds body, volume, and thickness as it conditions the hair. Rejuvenol's heat activation complex penetrates, expanding each individual hair shaft from within as it adds body, shine and thickness to the hair. Try out our Hair Thickener here.

So if all else fails, it might be time to take a trip to the wig store to invest in some extensions, Luxy Hair has some great high-quality hair extensions!
Thinning hair isn't anything to be afraid of. There is always something that can be done to make your hair appear thicker and fuller. And like we said, worst case scenario fake it till you make it and get a wig. What do you do to keep your hair thick and full of body? Did any of these tips help you? Sound off below.
]]>So it would any make sense to talk about the Fringe first because it is never a good idea to color your hair before you cut it, especially if you're getting a Cold Brew balayage! Now, why is the Fringe so versatile you may ask? This is because there are many different aspects of a Fringe that make it the perfect style for anyone whatever their face shape or style is. These aspects include the form, the length, the color, and the direction. Each one of these aspects is very important when it comes to "formulating" the perfect Fringe for your face shape and style. The two most important aspects of the Fringe are the length and form because these two aspects can change the entire look. A long Fringe can shorten the face, while a short Fringe will lengthen your face. And finally the age old question, should you cut your own Fringe? NO! Regardless of how confident you feel, this is one of the hardest styles for most hairdressers to master so unless you've had years of practice, chances are you should leave it to the professionals.
Micro-Fringe- A Micro-Fringe can usually be categorized as one with very short bangs that barely cover the forehead. It usually works very well on very short pixie cuts. This type of cut leaves your forehead almost completely uncovered and will accentuate the shape of your face.
Baby Bangs- Feature bangs with a little more length than that of a Micro-Fringe, can be compared to children's bangs. These type of bangs can add dimension to any look as it widens the face.
Curtain Fringe- Also known as an "A-Style Fringe" this type of Fringe opens from the center and drapes down to the sides. They look just like curtains and have become one of the most popular Fringes of the year.
Lateral and Asymmetric- Lateral Fringes are cut symmetrically, and one side is worn combed to the side. Asymmetric Fringes are cut at different lengths. Both of these Fringes help to widen the face.
Since the Fringe is so versatile, the look can be applied to almost anyone, meaning that pretty much everyone can pull off a Fringe. The only thing is that the cut should be altered to fit the individual face shape of the person receiving the cut. There are many things a Fringe can do:
-It can correct the shape of your face and make your features a lot more balanced
-Individuals who receive a fringe often appear much younger and like they have great style. Fringes can often distract from wrinkles, imperfections, and scars.
-It gives you a whole new look without a drastic cut.
-It can help make your forehead and nose appear smaller.
Fringes can also look great on people with curly hair! But when scheduling an appointment to try to get a styling that loves curly hair so they can better understand the curl pattern. Usually, with curly hair, stylists will wet the hair before cutting it and waiting for it to dry and for the curls to shrink to trim it to the perfect length. Some people with super curly hair are afraid that their short curls will take over their face, if this is the case we recommend trying out a smoothing treatment, learn about our professional treatments here.
Individuals with thin and fine hair may not be the best fit for a Fringe haircut, especially if your hair is oily. Those stray hairs laying on your forehead and getting oily quicker is not really a good look. If you do decide you want to try it though tell your stylist that you want a thicker Fringe and try to beef up your hair routine with a hair thickener like ours here.
If you have a round face and curved features like round eyes and plump lips then we recommend a straight or broken line Fringe as that would help extend the length of your face. You can also try to keep your hair a little longer at the edges as that would also help to elongate your face.
If you have a very angular face you should look for an asymmetric Fringe. If you have a large nose, opt for a voluminous Fringe as it will help balance out your look.
Oval shaped faces should look for a longer and heavier Fringe that is super blunt and full of volume. This will help to balance out your look and make it look less long and thin.
On a heart-shaped face, you should look for a Fringe that is super textured and choppy. You can even go as far as a heavier and fuller Fringe. Fringes work very well on someone with a heart-shaped face.
Individuals with square-shaped faces should look for a soft and layered sweeping Fringe to help complement your angular face without taking away from your beautiful bone structure.
After getting a Fringe it is very important to keep up with the upkeep. Especially if you got a straight and strong fringe and these will typically look messy if not maintained. If you plan on letting the Fringe grow out, opt for more of a soft fringe that will grow into a nice shape. It is usually best to get a trim every three weeks to a month. A lot of salons offer free Fringe trims in between cuts to keep the style looking its best.
Now switching gears into the colors of the Fall! As we said earlier, Cold Brew, Marigold, and Rose Quartz hair are currently what's in style.
Cold Brew Hair- is usually a deep brunette with chocolate red and golden hues. The color can be altered to fit almost any style and interest as it is reminiscent to a cup of coffee. Think about it this way, everyone likes their coffee differently, so why not their Cold Brew Hair!
Marigold Hair- This is a color reminiscent of a lot of peoples favorite Fall flower, the marigold. The look is usually a mix of golden and copper hues to create the beautiful yellow/gold marigold color! Keep in mind though, marigolds can be many colors besides just yellow gold, so have fun with it.
Rose Quartz Hair- This type of color is a dusty rose color with silver undertones. It is the perfect muted look for someone who is interested in dying their hair pink but is scared of the commitment of bright pinks. This color typically grows out beautifully if you have lighter hair.
Regardless what the Fall Trends are, we are not telling you that this is something that you must do, we are just telling you what we found to be the trends of the season. Ultimately, you have the power to do whatever you want to your hair! So get out there and rock your look every day, you deserve to feel beautiful.
]]>Believe it or not, if you are someone with overly oily hair, it's actually best not to wash your hair every day. Washing your hair too often confuses your sebaceous glands. The reason being, your hair will produce more oil to try to compensate for the oil lost in your hair. It will definitely take a little while for your sebaceous glands to get used to your hair washing schedule, but we recommend to only wash your hair twice weekly. When you do decide to wash your hair start off with warm water to cleanse and clean out your pores and then rinse with cold water to close your pores to decrease the amount of oil that will be released. Also, make sure not to condition your roots or use conditioner at all if you have oily hair. Putting conditioner on your roots just creates more oil and will leave your hair looking even more greasy. If you do use conditioner try to use it every other wash.
This goes without saying, but stop touching your hair! Your hands are probably the dirtiest place on your body and not only will you make your hair more oily but it will also make it dirtier. But playing with your hair or constantly pushing it back you are transferring the oil and germs from your hands to your hair. This will only contribute to the amount of oil and buildup in your hair.
The flatter your hair lays against your hair, the oilier it will be. The straighter it is the easier the oil can travel down your strands leaving your hair more prone to being greasy. You may notice that if you curl your hair it takes longer for your hair to appear oily and greasy. The curls and coils make it much more difficult for the oil to travel down your hair leaving your hair looking cleaner longer. Maybe even opt for letting your hair go natural and letting it air dry!
It may be part of your daily routine to use certain hair products to perfect your styles, but pay close attention to the ingredients in the products you use. Using products that contain a lot of oil will only add to the buildup of your hair and make it appear greasy and dirty. Opt for products that say they will not add to the buildup in your hair.
It's true what they say, you are what you eat! Keep in mind that the foods that you eat will definitely have a direct effect on the outside of your body, for example, your hair. Foods that are high in carbohydrates or are just processed will increase the amount of oil produced. That being said, we recommend that you steer clear of sugar, processed foods, and fried foods. Remember, the healthier you eat the happier your body will be.
A good rule of thumb is to clarify your hair once monthly. The reason that this is a good idea is that it helps to get rid of product buildup and extra oil that was produced in the last month and prepares your hair to be healthy and clean. Don't do it more than once monthly though, as you may damage your hair.
This isn't something many people think of doing but think about it. You come out of the shower to brush your hair, and the brush is the same brush you've used to style your hair the day before and has your dirty hair in it. Isn't this something you would want to put through your freshly cleaned hair? Us either! Make sure you clean your brushes daily when you clean your hair. Take the excess hair off of the brush and wash your brush with shampoo to ensure that it will be just as clean as the hair that you are running it through.
There are some products that can be used to help absorb the oil out of your hair and to remove the grime. These two products include cornstarch (or baby powder) and witch hazel. Cornstarch can be great as an oil absorbing machine making your hair appear less oily and adding some texture. Apply the powder and let it sit for five minutes before massaging it in until it disappears. Same goes for witch hazel. The liquid can be applied to grimy and dirty hair, not only does it help clean but it helps relieve itching, closes pores, and reduces inflammation. Witch hazel is also very gentle especially if you have a sensitive scalp!
Remember, oily hair is not the worst thing in the world. It's better for your hair to produce too much oil than not enough. What it comes down to is staying healthy. The healthier you are, the better the outside of your body will look whether it be your hair skin or nails what you take in is what you get out. Let us know below if you have any more tips for oily hair or what you do to combat your oily hair!
]]>Today we are here with a list of things that you can do to keep your long tresses tangle free and silky soft!
1. Started From The Bottom- When you are detangling your hair, you should never start from the top. If you start from the top your risk making the knots and tangles harder meaning that they will probably need to be cut out of your hair.
2. Protein Treatment- Although there's no actual cure for split ends beside a fresh cut, using products that contain Keratin can actually help close your hair cuticle and make it less prone to tangling.
3. Finger Comb First- As we said in our first tip, you risk making the tangles and the knots much tighter when using a brush or comb from the top of your hair. We suggest that you finger comb through your hair first before you even think of taking a brush or comb to your locks. By finger combing, you are able to loosen up any knots or tangles so that it will be a breeze when combing or brushing them out, and best of all, you won't have to cut the knots out.
4. Water & Conditioner- If your knots and tangles are a little tougher and aren't coming out, it might be best to add some water and leave in conditioner in your hair. The combination of these two makes your hair more slippery and able to easily slide past each other which will, in turn, make it much easier for you to detangle your hair.
5. Seal With Oil- After showering, we recommend that you seal the ends of your hair with a nourishing hair oil. As you know, the ends of your hair are the oldest and are more prone to having an open cuticle leaving the hair follicles dry and prone to damage. When hair follicles are dry and damaged it is much easier for them to tangle with other dry and damaged hair follicles causing knots in your hair. It is best practice to seal the ends of your hair with a hair oil to keep your hair nourished and full of life.
6. Hair Masks Weekly- This is one of our most repeated tips, and we really mean it. Make sure to do a hair mask at least once weekly. Hair masks add nutrients and moisture back to hair that they would not otherwise have. Not to mention, after a hair mask is the best time to finger comb and detangle your locks.
7. Use a Detangler- They're called detanglers for a reason! These types of products and specially formulated to clear your hair of any tangles or knots. They are often very similar to a leave-in conditioner and help to close the cuticle of the hair making it easier to detangle and unknot your hair. Try out our Argania Styling Cream as a detangler.
8. Shampoo The Scalp Only- When you are shampooing, only focus on the points that are very oily, the scalp. When you wash your long hair if you put it all on top of your head to wash it all it ends up getting all knotted and tangled as you lather it around on top of your head. Doing this only makes your detangling process that much longer, so only shampoo your scalp and condition your ends, and don't forget to seal your ends with oil!
9. Brush Before Showering- If you brush before you go in the shower to clear your hair of any knots or tangles, you will come out with much less, if any at all. It is best practice to never brush or comb your wet hair with tools as they will damage your hair so try to brush or comb beforehand and finger comb your hair after your shower is over.
10. Use a Satin Bonnet- Satin is better than cotton when it comes to hair care. In the Autumn and the Winter the wind usually kicks up, so to protect your hair from getting tangled in the windy weather, you should wear a satin hair bonnet. It is also a great idea to wear a satin hair bonnet at night to keep the moisture in your hair and to keep it from getting knotted and tangled while you move in your sleep.
11. Safety Pins- If you have a really tricky knot or tangle in your hair, using the pin end of a safety pin can help to unknot a super tight knot. Detangle with care though, you don't want to rip your hair follicles and damage your hair even more.
12. Take Care In The Winter- Winter air is dry, and the weather is windy so it is best to take extra care in the Winter months. Because of this type of weather, your hair may lose a lot of moisture making it very easy to tangle and knot. Inside, most people usually have their heat blasting which can also severely dry out your hair follicles. Make sure that you keep your hair nourished and moisturized in these months to keep it from tangling and drying out.
Now remember, take extra care when detangling your hair because before you know it you might not have any hair left. Hopefully these twelve tips gave you some ideas as to a better way to detangle and unknot your hair. Leave a comment below with any other things you do to detangle or any suggestions for future blog posts!
]]>We can all appreciate some sweater weather, especially after melting in the heat all summer long. Although we may enjoy the cooler weather, our hair does not. Some things that the cold and windiness from the Autumn and Winter do to our hair include:
1. Leave-In Conditioner For Static- If you know about dry air in the winter than you know how much static your hair can have. The reason that your hair puffs up is because of the lack of moisture in the air which adds static electricity. There are two ways to combat this, first, we recommend using a leave-in conditioner in your hair whenever you leave your house in the Fall and Winter to help weigh down the hair with the added moisture. The other idea is to add a dryer sheet to your hairbrush, this helps to keep the ions from allowing your hair to float up and instead should help you keep your static free.
2. Deep Conditioning- We always say that deep conditioners are great for your hair, but in the Autumn and Winter they are especially important. The dry weather of these two seasons can really dry out your hair making it brittle. Now is the best time to start to increase the moisture in your hair before it is fully the winter. Conditioning is especially important if your hair is curly because it is harder for your scalp to produce enough oil for it to travel down your curls. When your looking for products that will add moisture to your hair look for products that contain:
3. Seal Hair With Oil- Sealing your hair with oil helps to keep your hair protected while also helping to retain moisture. This added layer of protection helps to prevent breakage and to help protect against the harsh Winter environment. If you have drier hair you need to use an oil that will penetrate easily into your hair like olive or coconut oil. If you have oily hair, then you should opt for Argan Oil or Jojoba Oil.
4. Hair Steaming- Hair steaming is a great way to add some moisture to your hair and give it some strength before the Winter arrives. If done right hair steaming cleanses the scalp, improves circulation, boosts moisture, and improves the penetration of hair products. To steam your hair, begin by washing your hair and applying a deep conditioning mask to your hair. Next, place a tight fitting plastic cap around your head. Then, soak a towel in hot water and wrap it on your head. Add another plastic cap over to lock in the steam. Leave this on for about twenty minutes, then let your hair cool before rinsing. Aim to steam your hair once a week to increase its strength, don't do it too often as it can damage your hair.
5. Keep It Covered- If you live somewhere where there are strong cold wings then you should definitely consider keeping your hair covered when you step outside. This helps to provide your hair with a strong and physical layer against the winter environment. Some items that can be used are head wraps and headbands, snoods, or silk head scarves. These can help keep the hair covered and protected from environmental damage. Be care fun to avoid wool and zippers though as these can get caught on your hair causing damage and breakage.
6. Scalp Massages- Scalp massages are especially important in the winter. Usually, in cooler weather, your hair oil production slows down as do a lot of the other processes in your body. Keeping your scalp circulation high with a scalp massage helps to keep your natural oil production at a normal level. These natural oils are essential for maintaining moisture and hydration of your tresses in the Winter. Try to give yourself scalp massages before a shower, as the massages usually help to loosen dirt and buildup on your hair.
7. Heat Protectors- Like we've said a million times before, super hot heat styling is never good for your hair and can do much more harm than good. This goes without saying that in the Winter it can be even worse as your hair will already be lacking moisture. If you must use heated styling tools try to make sure that you use them on a lower heat setting and use heat protectants. Not only do these protect your hair when you are using hot styling tools, but it also helps to add an additional protective layer to your hair just like a hair oil would.
8. Clarify and Condition- Another thing to do this time of year that can keep your hair at its healthiest is to clarify and condition your hair. Keep in mind, that if you received a keratin treatment recently this is not something that you should do as it WILL dissolve the treatment out of your hair. Using a clarifying shampoo helps to remove any buildup or impurities from your hair. It also helps to remove any chlorine or mineral deposits from pools or lakes that you may have swum in over the summer. After your clarify your hair it is a great idea to deep condition your hair to seal the cuticle and give it needed moisture.
Follow these eight tips and you can hair your hair totally prepared for Autumn and Winter. If you have any other tips or questions feel free to comment them below. Also, comment any ideas for blog posts you would like to see in the future! Happy Autumn everyone!

So let's get into the nitty-gritty and learn about the three different levels of hair porosity.
Low Porosity: This type of hair tends to be very dry, but also may be very healthy and shiny. This is because the cuticle is clamped tightly down preventing moisture from entering the hair. Low porosity hair repels moisture and products which can cause a lot of buildup on the hair follicles. The type of hair is often very hard to process because it resists penetration of chemicals. This type of hair is prone to build up from protein-rich deep conditioning products, so when styling, stick to protein-free daily conditioners that contain humectants such as glycerin. You should also typically use moisturizers rich in emollients like shea butter, jojoba oil, and mineral oil.
Balanced Porosity: This type of porosity is typically the best and easiest to manage. It contains a delicate balance of low and high porosity. It can hold moisture for an extended period of time, so it will hold styles longer and accept color better. The cuticle layer of this type of hair is often looser which allows the right amount of moisture without letting too much escape. This type of hair is typically healthy, bouncy, and resilient. When looking for products, look for moisturizing shampoos and conditioners, and thicker water based leave in conditioners. This will help to keep this balanced porosity as balanced as possible.
High Porosity: this type of hair tends to be very damaged with raised cuticles. This allows moisture to go in and out quickly and is characterized as someone who has frizzy, straw-like hair. This can either be just the property of your hair or as a result of too much chemical processing or rough treatment. This type of hair usually has gaps in the cuticle making the hair very prone to frizzing. When looking for products for high porosity hair, use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that has hydrolyzed protein that can be absorbed by the hair strand. Use a protein-based hair mask twice weekly. Use a thick water-based leave-in conditioner when going to humid environments or in the rain.
So now that you know the different types of hair porosity, why do you think it is important? The reason why is because depending on your type of hair you want to make sure that you are using the right products to not damage your hair or cause excess buildup. This is why it is so important to know the porosity level of your hair, and we have a few ways that you can test the porosity of your hair.
The Float Test: Get a bowl of water and drop a couple of strands from your hairbrush into the bowl. Let them sit for 2-4 minutes. If your hair floats that means that you have low porosity if it sinks that means that you have high porosity.
The Slip n Slide Test: Take a strand of your hair and slide your fingers up the hair shaft (towards your scalp), if you feel bumps along the way that means your cuticle is open and you have high porosity, if it is smooth that means you have low porosity hair and your cuticle is closed.
Knowing your hair porosity should only aid your hair, not cause you any stress. If you notice that certain products may be damaging your hair or causing too much build up, then chances are you are using the wrong types of products for your hair type. Pay close attention to how your hair reacts to the products you use and how the hair responds to the outside environment. Understanding more about the makeup of your hair, and the porosity levels can actually help you to create much healthier hair over time. Now get out there, and do the tests and let us know what kind of porosity your hair has in the comments below.
]]>1. Tame Pesky Flyaways and Baby Hairs:
It doesn't matter if your hair is styled down or in a nice updo, but nothing is worse than having pesky flyaways and baby hairs ruining your style, and if you have hair on the longer side it is inevitable for this to happen. To tame these pesky hairs, once you are done styling, spray a toothbrush with a non-sticky hairspray, like our Rejuvenol Hairspray, and softly brush down those flyaways and baby hairs. Not only will this make your flyaways blend into your hair but if done correctly will not make your hair appear crunchy or greasy.
2. Look To The Laundry:
There's nothing we hate more than some frizzy, puffy, hair static. In environments or weather where there is low humidity and a dry environment, your hair is more prone to having too much static electricity. To combat this go to your laundry room and grab some dryer sheets. Dryer sheets are known to help remove static from your clothes and the same thing goes for your hair! Dryer sheets contain positively charged ingredients, which when combined with the negative ions in your hair help to neutralize the charge and to make your hair lay flat. Simply take a dryer sheet and rub it over your static hair and watch your strands lay flat. Some people often keep their brushes and combs wrapped in a dryer sheet so that it keeps their charge neutralized.
3. A Good Ol' Plop:
So some of you may already know this, but Hair Plopping has become all the rage when it comes to drying your hair after a shower. In order to hair plop, follow these simple steps. First, start with some wet, freshly washed hair. Next, you are going to want to saturate your hair with a moisturizer (like our Argania Hair Mask) and with a hair styler (like our Argania Styling Cream). Next, take an old t-shirt and lay it down on your bed or a chair with the sleeves side closest to you. You are going to then take the bottom of the shirt (the part furthest from you) and place that on the nape of your neck. Finally, wrap the rest of your hair with the t-shirt and tie the sleeves behind your head. Wait for twenty minutes, and now you've hair plopped! Once taking the t-shirt off, either diffuse your hair with cool air or let it hair dry.
4. Rice Water:
Next time you make rice, don't strain out that water, save it, because it has been proven to be fantastic for your hair. Studies show that rice water contains inositol, a carbohydrate that helps to repair damaged hair. This carbohydrate stays in the hair even after the rice water is rinsed off, and acts as a shield to protect your hair from damage. Rice water also contains amino acids that strengthen the hair from the roots, increase your hair volume, and make your hair shiny and smooth. Rice water is great for your hair and can greatly increase the health of your tresses.
5. Tomato Juice For Blondes:
This one is a little strange, but has been proven time and time again to work. If you have blonde hair, you've probably spent too much time in a pool or in the ocean and were left with some green hair. Rid your blonde hair of those unwanted green tones by soaking your hair in tomato juice. The reason that this works is that the red in the tomato juice neutralizes the green and gives your blonde a boost and vibrant look. Leave the juice in your hair for 20 minutes, then shampoo and condition as you would normally. Repeat if necessary. Some popular YouTubers have tried out this hack and it actually worked for them!
6. No Heat Sock Curls:
You've probably never thought that socks and curls could be used in the same sentence but we are here today to tell you otherwise. This is another tried and true hair hack that has been proven to work. So what you're going to do is you're going to get a couple crew socks and some hairspray. You are first going to spritz your hair with some hairspray before wrapping your hair all the way around the sock. To secure the "curler" tie both ends of the sock so that it will hold. Continue for the rest of your hair wrapping your hair around the sock from the bottom to the top until all of your hair is wrapped. The less hair wrapped, the tighter the curls. After, spritz your whole head of sock curlers with a small amount of hairspray and wait about 10 minutes. Finally, unroll the socks out of your hair and you will be left with beautiful beachy curls. The best part, no heat damage to your hair!
So now that you have some extra tips for your hair that you never knew your needed hopefully your luscious locks will be as beautiful as ever. All six of these hacks havn't shown any sign of damage to the hair and are healthy ways to achieve a certain look or fix a certain hair problem. Follow these tricks and hopefully, you'll be just as happy as Zach Galifianakis is below.
